After driving through the northern part of Italy, we arrived in Rome to perform our tourist duty. And to the best of our ability we did, before
moving on to another beautiful region of Italy, Umbria.
The Pantheon. They don’t make ‘em like that anymore.
Fun
with perspective in the interior…
Piazza Navona…
The obligatory Colloseum shot…
The obligatory Trevi Fountain shot…
(Trust me, there’s water below.)
Rafael in the Vatican…
For God or glory? You be the judge of this interior shot of the
Vatican…
The surreal exit of the Vatican… (There
are obligatory Sistine Chapel photos, but due to the lack of light they need some touch up before
posting here.)
Full of world treasures—the
Pantheon, the Coliseum, the Victor Emmanuel II monument, the Roman Forum, this
is Rome’s skyline…
One of the advantages of living like a
snail is that you can just pull it over any time you want and sleep. The first night in Umbria this vineyard was
our resting place.
Umbria was every bit as beautiful as
Tuscany and Lombardy. Home to the city
of Orvieto, we spent one fine day wandering the streets and looking in on the
little shops—our camper’s suspension taking another hit in the aftermath. Gotta love this guy’s style…
Classic Vespa!
Caption needed?
The cathedral of Orvieto and its madcap
candy cane stonework.
A quick meal on the road overlooking the hills of Umbria before heading
to Venice, Yeti on the right…
Up next: Venice!
