This March (2013) we took a week-long ski trip to the
Dolomites in Italy. A very specific part
of the European Alps, I don’t know if the week could have been more beautiful
or gone any better. The scenery, skiing,
food, evenings relaxing, and company were first class. My only regret is that
the trip was just a week. Here are a few
of the photos.
This
is the town of Moena where we stayed for the week.
LLocated
in the heart of the Dolomites, it is a quaint little town with nice little
shops and restaurants.
Every morning the church bells rang—and for several hours
the evening the new pope was chosen.
Not always, but generally the conditions were superb: few
people, sunshine, beautiful mountains, wide open slopes…
…and a lift always waiting to take you to another part of
the region. We were there for a week and
only skied a limited number of slopes.
There are miles and miles of trail around Moena.
And of course, there was always time for relaxing with a
drink…
…between time on the slopes.
This day in particular the sun shone beautifully - the playground of the gods!
Blue skies and white snow…
And all too soon it was time to hit the road back to
Poland. The Austrian Alps are not too
shabby themselves…
The End
